Get Krafti
After Installation you have one step to do
Watch: connecting Krafti to Ableton — about a minute.
Full install steps & troubleshooting— open this only if something needs a hand
Krafti sets itself up on first launch — it checks for what it needs (like Python) and installs it automatically. If it can't, it tells you and pings our team for you. The steps below are the manual path, just in case.
What you need
| macOS | Windows | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | macOS 10.15 Catalina or newer | Windows 10 / 11 |
| Ableton Live | 12.x | 12.x |
| Browser | Chrome recommended | Chrome / Edge / Firefox |
| Internet | Only for the chat — everything else is local | Same |
macOS
- 1Download and unzip Nuonda Krafti anywhere (e.g. your Music folder).
- 2Open Terminal, drag the file install.sh from the folder into the Terminal window, press Enter. (This installs Krafti's connector — “Nuonda Conductor” — into Ableton's User Library. One time only.)
- 3Double-click the Nuonda Krafti app icon. The first launch starts the local engine and opens the Krafti panel in your browser.
- 4Open Ableton Live → Live → Settings… → Link, Tempo & MIDI → first Control Surface dropdown → choose “Nuonda Conductor” (leave Input/Output = None).
- 5If Live was already open during install: quit it completely (⌘Q) and reopen.
- 6In the Krafti panel, the dot in the top-right turns green — you're connected.
- 7Type your first command: set the tempo to 124 → Execute. Watch it happen in Live.
Windows
- 1Download and unzip Nuonda Krafti.
- 2Double-click install.bat once. (If Windows asks for Python, allow it — the installer sets it up.)
- 3Double-click NuondaKrafti.bat to launch. The Krafti panel opens in your browser.
- 4Ableton: Options → Preferences → Link, Tempo & MIDI → Control Surface → “Nuonda Conductor”.
- 5Restart Ableton if it was open. Green dot = connected.
- 6First command: set the tempo to 124 → Execute.
Connect Krafti
- 1. In the Krafti panel click ⚙ Setup (top right).
- 2. Paste your Nuonda access key into the key field → Save.
- 3. Click the Krafti button in the model bar so it's active.
Troubleshooting
- The dot stays red
- Ableton isn't connected: check Control Surface = Nuonda Conductor in Live's settings, then fully quit (⌘Q) and reopen Live.
- “engine unavailable” at the bottom
- Your access key isn't set up — open ⚙ Setup in the panel and paste your Nuonda access key.
- The panel doesn't open
- Open http://127.0.0.1:8765/ manually in your browser.
- “Cannot connect” but Live is open
- Another program is using the port — restart the computer, or contact support.
- A command does nothing in Live
- Make sure a Live project window is open (not just the splash screen).
